I just finished my last painting of the year, unless I get really busy in the next few days. I had a lot of fun with this painting, trying to let loose and paint a bit more freely. I haven't gone abstract yet, but still I had a lot of fun.
As a child we had peacocks as pets for awhile and I will never forget the magnificence of the male peacock and his dance trying to impress the female. What an extremely gorgeous creature.
I hope you enjoy!
This painting is acrylic on canvas. It measures 12" by 36" by 1.5" and is for sale for $400. Please contact me at contact@reneethompsondesigns.com if you are interested in purchasing it.
Thank you!

New painting, "Good Morning".
I love chickens. It's been a long time since I've owned any, but I remember them as a child. Getting fresh eggs, watching their little walk and silly sense of curiosity. Chickens represent a simpler way of living, self-sufficiency and rural life. Here is a painting giving thanks for the abundance that chickens provide. Maybe someday I can have them again.

"Curly Legs", new painting
Here is my latest painting.
I live near the ocean which inevitably inspires and influences my work. Cephalopod molluscs or octopi have always been fascinating to me. They are so beautiful, intelligent and the fact they can squeeze into tiny openings due to their lack of an external skeleton just adds to their uniqueness.
Here is my representation of the octopus. Enjoy!

Peace...new painting
I just recently finished my second painting of the year, Peace...
It is inspired by the lovely historical paintings of the mother Mary, the Madonna. There are so many of them. As quoted by Wikipedia, "For over a thousand years, through the Byzantine, Medieval and Early Renaissance periods the Madonna was the most often produced pictorial artwork."
Here is to Mary...
